Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of residential properties. This role ensures that all homes and apartments are safe, functional, and attractive for residents and prospective tenants. During turn season, this position also plays a key role in preparing units for new tenants through cleaning, painting, and light renovations.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
- Complete work orders efficiently and document all maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor appliance issues.
- Maintain grounds and common areas, including trash pickup and seasonal tasks.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies as needed.
- Assist with unit turns, including painting, cleaning, light fixture replacement, and basic remodeling.
- Inspect vacated units and identify repair or upgrade needs prior to re-rental.
- Collaborate with property management staff to ensure high resident satisfaction.
- Safely operate company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of general maintenance or property management maintenance experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Strong troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and interact professionally with residents and team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
