Maintenance Technician

What you will enjoy doing*

• In this role, you will work hands-on with rotating equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, and compressors, performing disassembly and reassembly activities to repair or replace components including bearings, seals, gears, and structural parts
• You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of mechanical systems, including compressors, pumps, blowers, valves, and other rotating equipment, helping ensure safe and reliable plant operations
• The role includes installing, repairing, and maintaining high-pressure piping systems, including both threaded and welded piping applications
• You will perform both preventive and reactive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support operational performance
• A key part of the role is identifying opportunities for cost savings, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies within the plant
• Using the computerized maintenance management system (EAM), you will plan and execute maintenance activities, coordinate parts procurement, complete scheduled work, and ensure all required documentation is accurately maintained
• You will work closely with engineering and operations teams, serving as a liaison to help ensure maintenance activities and plant projects are completed safely and on schedule
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documenting completed work in repair logs and maintenance systems will be an important part of the role
• Success in this position comes from strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving equipment performance and plant reliability

What makes you great*

• The role is ideal for a certified Journeyman Millwright with strong hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial environment
• You will bring 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with a strong understanding of equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and repair practices
• Success in this role comes from being a self-starter who can effectively manage multiple priorities while working independently and delivering results
• You will be comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation to support repair and maintenance activities
• The position requires flexibility, including participation in on-call rotations and working overtime when needed to support plant operations
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are important, as you'll regularly collaborate with operations, engineering, contractors, and fellow maintenance team members
• A valid driver's licence is required, along with the ability to safely perform the physical demands of the role
• You will be comfortable working in a variety of industrial environments, including climbing stairs and ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 25 kg, and wearing all required personal protective equipment, including respirators
• Experience with welding, machining, instrumentation, heavy-duty mechanical systems, or cryogenic pumps would be considered a strong asset and will help support a wide range of maintenance activities
• The role is best suited for someone who is safety-focused, adaptable, and committed to maintaining reliable plant operations through high-quality maintenance and continuous improvement
