Job Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment and facility systems. This role plays a critical part in supporting continuous improvement and plant uptime
Job Responsibilities
- Support production lines by diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Perform maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and chemical delivery systems
- Operate machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines) and fabrication equipment (e.g., welders) to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
- Install and upgrade automated manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain and service compressors, material handling systems, motors, gearboxes, drives, and related machinery.
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors to identify opportunities for improving uptime and efficiency.
- Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for preventive maintenance and work orders
- Assist in planning and executing plant shutdowns, start-ups, and new product launch support.
- Manage inventory and purchase parts as required.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and provide direction or troubleshooting support.
- Follow and promote all Health, Safety, and Hygiene protocols in the workplace.
Required Training and Experience
- 5+ years experience in an automated manufacturing environment
- Valid Millwright Certification (433A or 426A)
- Tool and Die Maker Certification (430A) or equivalent.
Key Skills Required
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools (dial indicators, micrometers, verniers).
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley RSLogix5000 programming (an asset).
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to perform safely under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team mindset.
- Knowledge of welding, mechanical assembly, and machining.
