We are looking for a Major Component Replacement Technician (Onshore Wind), to play a vital role in the safe and efficient exchange of multiple major components, across multiple wind turbine types primarily in Ireland, but also the UK.

You will work closely with various functions internally and different subcontract suppliers of services and goods externally. This will allow the safe, efficient, component exchanges with quality assurance.


The role requires forward thinking problem solvers who are happy to communicate at all levels, deliver against an agreed plan and work closely within a team. Continuous improvement, flexibility and a can-do attitude will be important characteristics to make a difference within the role.


Some Key Tasks:

  • Planning and supervising the execution of Major Component Replacements (MCRs).
  • Playing an active role on site during MCR works under Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and oversight of Quality plans.
  • Align all stakeholders key to the completion of works for example - clients, civil works, subcontract support, local O&M team, procurement etc.
  • Communicate correctly and professionally in a collaborative manner to all stakeholders.
  • Must comply with all client site rules and regulations.
  • Supporting of all areas of site operations when not on MCRs.
  • Must be willing to travel and show flexibility for optimising plans and weather windows opportunities.


Candidate profile:

  • Wind industry Experience, ideally in Operational phase.
  • Safety conscious with experience/training in relevant H&S areas.
  • Have relevant formal qualifications in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic and/or have comprehensive experience in MCRs.
  • Ability to plan and run a team on site.
  • Project Management experience is desirable.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and to tight (sometimes moving) deadlines.
  • Ability to work in weather windows suitable for crane lifts, but in remote locations.
  • Able to problem solve and have a can-do attitude
  • Strong leadership skills / Good communicator.
  • IT proficient on MS suite and the ability to complete all electronic work pack documentation.
  • Experience of working under Construction Regulations or similar.
  • Valid Ire driving licence.
