DSV Air & Sea is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Manager, Airfreight in Auckland.
This position is responsible for the overall business and financial operation of all airfreight related activities for the branch. As well as leading a team of airfreight operators the position will have responsibility for achieving and reporting on KPI’s.
Your typical day at DSV:
- Establish and maintain airfreight and customer relationships.
- Database management including invoicing and quoting.
- Be responsible for the overall performance for the airfreight operations and ensure management intensity is maintained in key performance areas.
- Facilitate the provision of operational supports including import and export documentation, synchronisation of origin/destination zone transport, customs formalities and the overall scope of the door to door trade.
- Ensure effective and timely delivery of customer commitments by the organisation.
- Lead, direct and support daily operations as well as spearheading the development and rollout of improvement initiatives.
- Create a challenging, rewarding and open work environment that facilitates constructive communication and motivates performance.
- Identify and groom staff with potential for succession.
- Constantly monitor cost control efforts within the Department.
About you:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in a senior airfreight operations role or similar position.
- Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) software solutions and large, complex organizations.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management and a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
