We are looking for a Manager, Business Control (m/f/d) UPM Biorefining Operations. The position is in Biorefining & Technology Business control team, and located in Helsinki or Tampere, Finland, or Leuna, Germany.

Our Business Controlling team is responsible for UPM Biorefining operations at our refineries in Leuna, Germany and in Lappeenranta, Finland producing renewable carbon solutions such as renewable diesel and chemicals. The operations business controller plays a crucial role by supporting refinery management in decision making through analysis, planning and guidance. Good collaboration with finance and business stakeholders is a key to succeeding in this position. This is a great opportunity to be part of a sustainable future. What you will do

  • Drive actions to optimize financial performance

  • Develop and execute reporting, forecasting, and analytics

  • Support refinery management in financial analysis of investment and development projects

  • Monitor, analyze, and report monthly costs

  • Manage budgeting, analysis, and follow-up

  • Ensure an effective internal control and compliance environment

  • Collaborate extensively with finance and business stakeholders to ensure success in the above areas

Who you are

  • You are highly motivated and see complexity and multitasking as opportunities, not threats

  • You understand product costing and cost allocations and can contribute and develop the area to support business to make right decisions

  • You are analytical, with a strong aspiration for development work and delivering results

  • You are self-driven and have a high level of integrity

  • You have proven influencing and communication skills and can operate effectively in networks

  • You have a university degree in a relevant field (e.g. finance or industrial management) and at least five years of relevant work experience

  • You have a good understanding of finance processes and at least a basic understanding of business processes, combined with a drive to learn more about the business

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English; Finnish and German are considered an asset

  • You have excellent skills in PowerPoint and Excel, and experience with data processing and visualization tools. Experience with ERP (S4 Hana) and OneStream is an asset
