Manager, Business Development

The Business Development Manager (BDM) main responsibility is to drive growth in his/her agency unit. The BDM reports directly to the Director of Agencies (DOA) and is required to assist the DOA in implementing & managing the cluster of Agencies, day to day operations, driving agency sales & recruitment and strategic planning in collaboration with the DOA.

An ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the insurance industry with proven track record in business development with excellent interpretation skills.

Responsibilities Include

Business Growth & Sales Strategy

• Work with the leaders in providing support to help them achieve their annual sales targets (for e.g. contract maintenance, rank maintenance, promotion)
• Work and support Agency to drive Sales via campaigns like OPH, IFM, Android Campaign
• Work and support Agency on Tactical Contests
• Support DOAs in the Monthly Agency Leaders meeting and briefing
• Participate in the Weekly GSM/ADM Meeting
• Attend Sales Group Meetings
• Participate in Branch meetings and sharing updates
• Attend Events & Celebrations to bond with sales force
• Drive company consumer campaigns & initiative

Support DOA in Sales Admin/Quality

• Ensure Sales Quality within Agency (BSC)
• Support DOAs to ensure CPD Hours and Mandatory Trainings for the reps are met
• Monitor Persistency Ratio and ROPs
• Driving towards Digital Sales Force

Recruitment

• Work with Agency Strategy (AS) and Agency Recruitment and Talent Management (ARTM) to drive Recruitment via various campaigns
• Prepare & escalate special cases to DOA or CAO for appointment approval
• Assist in onboarding of Migrant Groups

Collaborate with cross functional teams (Actuary, LHO, Marketing)/Product, Compliance)

• To provide customer centric solution to help shape Agency Leaders and FCs’ experience with Income
• Coordinate and support sales /marketing events, campaigns and recruitment activities with stakeholders and partners
• Work with internal team to ensure high level of customer service and foster a culture of continuous process improvement

Assisting DOA in Cluster Responsibilities

• Support DOAs to liaise with Compliance and sales force on complaint/appeal issues
• Escalate and resolve underwriting issues
• Support DOAs in company initiatives and ad-hoc projects
• Assist DOAs in overall operation of cluster office, for safety and efficiency. Ensure all equipment working and well maintained.

Qualifications:

• Min Diploma
• CMFAS M5, M9, M9A & HI
• At least 1-3 years of Agency Management or Channel Distribution experience
