We are now looking for a Manager, Business Intelligence to join UPM Plywood strategy team. The position is located in Lahti or some other UPM location in Finland.

What you will do

In this role, you will be the key individual contributor responsible for building and leading our business intelligence capabilities, covering market intelligence, competitor intelligence, customer insights, and broader strategic analysis. With the current position holder retiring, you will have the opportunity to redesign our BI approach. You will work closely with senior leadership and the strategy team, bringing fresh perspectives, and data‑driven insights that help guide our long‑term direction. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategy in a company where your insights will directly shape commercial decisions, product development, and market positioning.

Your main tasks include:

• Development of business intelligence framework and collaboration with stakeholders
• Monitor global plywood markets, industry trends and demand-supply drivers
• Track competitor activities, product portfolios, and market moves
• Follow global economic and political developments and summarize their impact on our business
• Develop and maintain BI dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools
• Bring fresh ideas, challenge assumptions, and contribute to strategic discussions with data ‑ driven viewpoints

Who you are

• You have a master’s degree and at least three years of relevant work experience in analytics, market intelligence, or strategic insight work
• You have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to form clear, evidence‑based viewpoints
• You have broad understanding of business fundamentals and economic drivers
• You have innovative, proactive, and results‑oriented mindset with the courage to challenge assumptions
• You have high motivation to learn, develop, and build new capabilities
• You have strong communication skills with the ability to influence and summarize what matters
• You have ability to collaborate and build networks across different levels of the organization
• You have basic understanding of AI and a vision for its practical use in business intelligence
• You are fluent in both Finnish and English
