Join our growing Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team as a Manager. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team to help clients build and manage their sustainability approach aiming at addressing rising stakeholder concerns and new regulatory requirements, achieving more transparent non-financial reporting and seizing opportunities for integrating sustainability aspects in business processes, incl. supplier management and risk mitigation.
We welcome applicants with a variety of backgrounds and experience in the fields of sustainability and are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate knowledge related to EU Taxonomy reporting, as well as other EU regulatory requirements related to environmental and social topics. Assurance experience is not required but is an asset.
Your key responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading client projects, where you will be expected to contribute both deep subject matter expertise and building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders in:
EU Taxonomy assessments: completion of eligibility and alignment assessments, including analysis of substantial contribution, do no significant harm (DNSH) for various sectors and activities.
EU Taxonomy reporting: support of clients with calculating the EU Taxonomy key performance indicators (KPIs), i.e. environmentally sustainable revenue, CapEx and OpEx and preparing the according disclosures. Assurance experience is also an asset.
Other sustainability reporting requirements: knowledge of other regulatory requirements to perform gap assessments, gap closure implementation and assurance over non-financial information.
Further development of our EU Taxonomy solution offering and generating new business opportunities and relationships
Manage commercial aspects of client projects such as budgeting, adhere to EY’s risk management policies and procedures, and communicate progress and escalate any significant issues to partners and clients
Understand the range of EY service offerings and actively see opportunities to develop new solutions and better serve clients
Contribute to EY’s reputation as a market leader
Contribute to and help shape the team’s development through recruitment activities, coaching, mentoring, and training
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
A Bachelors or Masters degree in economics, environmental sciences/engineering or related fields of study is a prerequisite
Existing experience with EU Taxonomy assessments, reporting and/or assurance, and training in these areas is a prerequisite
Several years of experience in the industry or in consulting firm in topics such as sustainability, financial and non-financial reporting & assurance, as well as training in these areas
Ability to manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to focus on the right issues and work in a fast-paced environment
Confident and credible communicator who displays both technical knowledge and commercial understanding
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with managing expectation of both internal and external stakeholders
Ability and appetite to drive business development and contribute to the growth of EY’s solutions

Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is a requirement, additional proficiency in German is a plus
