Manager, Health, Safety, And Wellbeing

Our client, in the government sector seeks an experienced Manager- Health, Safety and Wellbeing to join their team in Brisbane CBD.

  • Permanent Full-Time | Salary: $142,759 - $150,873 + Super

About the Role

As the Manager - Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, you'll play a crucial role in our client's safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSW legislation, and leading initiatives that foster a safe, healthy, and high-performing workplace. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, you'll:

  • Lead HSW Strategy: Oversee and implement strategic workplace health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) program.
  • Drive Cultural Change: Foster a sustainable safety culture by engaging with leaders and staff across all offices.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Offer strategic and operational HSW guidance to senior leaders, managers, and committees.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Workcover, Work Health and Safety Queensland, and more.
  • Manage Projects: Lead HSW projects, maintain a compliant Safety Management System, and introduce proactive risk management strategies.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience in delivering and managing HSW programs, including psychosocial and physical risk management.
  • Expertise in data analysis, risk assessment, and implementing creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to influence and drive positive outcomes.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and safe workplace culture.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in HSW or a related field.
  • Experience with compliance and safety management systems.
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination experience.
