Manager, Integrated Project Delivery job opportunity

Tailor Your Resume for this Job

Leads the Integrated Project Delivery Center (IPDC) team during nights, weekends, and other off hours. This role is accountable for safe, disciplined, and continuously supported operations when daytime leadership is not on site.

The manager serves as the primary IPDC leadership escalation point during assigned coverage periods. They ensure every shift has clear priorities, qualified coverage, effective handoffs, timely escalation, and coordinated response to urgent issues. The objective is simple: no shift operates without accountable leadership, and no critical work is delayed or disrupted because teams, priorities, or decisions were not deconflicted. This is an on-site role located in Saline, MI. May require travel not to exceed 25%.

Key Responsibilities

Night and Weekend Team Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the IPDC night and weekend team.

  • Own staffing plans, shift coverage, contingency coverage, and escalation paths for assigned operations.

  • Ensure every shift begins with clear priorities, active risks, planned work, staffing status, and required leadership coverage.

  • Set expectations for operational discipline, communication, documentation, safety, and accountability.

  • Conduct regular one on ones, performance conversations, development planning, and recognition for team members.

Operational Continuity and Emergency Deconfliction

  • Serve as the IPDC management escalation point for urgent, unplanned, or high impact events during nights and weekends.

  • Establish a clear common operating picture during an event, including what happened, operational impact, accountable owners, active work, decisions required, and recovery status.

  • Rapidly deconflict competing work, resources, access needs, maintenance activities, and stakeholder priorities to protect operations and prevent avoidable lost shifts.

  • Activate the appropriate technical, safety, security, facilities, engineering, vendor, and leadership resources based on the event.

  • Ensure incidents, escalations, decisions, and recovery actions are documented, communicated, and driven to closure.

  • Lead or support after action reviews and ensure corrective actions have an owner, due date, and verified completion.

Shift Handoffs and Work Control

  • Establish and enforce a rigorous shift handoff process between daytime, night, and weekend teams.

  • Maintain visibility of active work, planned maintenance, outstanding risks, open actions, staffing concerns, and operational constraints.

  • Coordinate, sequence, pause, or escalate conflicting work to ensure safe execution and minimize operational disruption.

  • Ensure the team follows approved procedures, change control expectations, escalation protocols, and documentation standards.

  • Provide concise, decision ready status updates to IPDC leadership at the appropriate cadence.

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Build strong working relationships with Facilities Operations, Construction, Commissioning, Engineering, Security, Network and IT, vendors, and site operations.

  • Coordinate off hours vendor activity, access, inspections, maintenance, and urgent support needs.

  • Ensure daytime teams receive complete handoffs on overnight and weekend events, unresolved risks, decisions, and follow up actions.

  • Represent IPDC in delegated operational forums and make routine execution decisions within established authority.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring off hours issues, handoff failures, communication gaps, and workflow breakdowns.

  • Lead improvements to shift readiness, escalation paths, reporting, action tracking, emergency coordination, and operational continuity.

  • Use operational data, team feedback, and lessons learned to improve performance and reduce repeat events.

  • Develop team capability through training, tabletop exercises, cross training, and clear operating procedures.

Core Manager Responsibilities

Planning and Execution

Creates and owns the execution plan for night and weekend operations, including staffing, coverage, priorities, handoffs, escalation readiness, and work control. Adapts plans as operational conditions, business needs, or emergent events change.

Collaboration and Partnership

Strengthens partnerships across teams so IPDC can quickly assemble the right people, make timely decisions, and execute safely during off hours events.

Problem Solving

Leads the team in identifying, assessing, and resolving moderately complex operational issues. Escalates material risk with a clear summary of impact, options, recommendation, and recovery path.

Performance and Development

Provides direction, coaching, feedback, and performance management for direct reports. Identifies capability gaps, supports development plans, participates in hiring, and builds a reliable off hours leadership bench.

Scope Boundary

This role manages people and operational execution. It does not own technical design, controls engineering, construction delivery, or system break fix work. Functional teams retain technical authority and responsibility for performing the work. The IPDC manager ensures work is properly prioritized, coordinated, escalated, and handed off.
