We are now looking for a Manager, Marketing, EMEIA & North America, to join our team at UPM Pulp. You will be a member of the global Marketing, Sustainability and Communications (MSC) team at UPM Pulp, which is part of the UPM Fibres Business Area. The position is located in Helsinki, Finland.

In this role, you will focus on the development of our regional marketing strategies for two key regions: Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA), and North America. You will drive high-impact marketing initiatives that directly contribute to our business objectives, customer engagement, and brand positioning across the regions. You will work in close alignment with the global marketing team and the EMEIA and North American Sales team to position UPM Pulp as the world leading pulp supplier in key markets and end-use segments. You will also be closely involved in various global marketing-related projects. Kati Kaskeala, VP, Marketing, Sustainability and Communications, UPM Fibres.

What you will do

You will be responsible for developing and executing our marketing strategy and plans for the EMEIA and North America regions to drive business growth, as well as participating actively in the further development of our global marketing strategy, leading specific projects and activities also at a global level. This strategic, but also hands-on role calls for a commercially minded, full-stack marketeer with proven expertise in developing and executing strategies and campaigns in a B2B context. The role requires seamless collaboration across teams, regions, and functions, as well as excellent external stakeholder relations skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of UPM Pulp’s marketing strategy and plans in EMEIA and North America, in alignment with our commercial objectives and our global marketing strategy
  • Ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging across all relevant channels, while localizing global narratives and content for relevance in key markets
  • Use data and customer insights to guide decision-making and continuously optimize the reach and performance of our marketing campaigns, activities and channels, thus measuring and improving our marketing impact
  • Strengthen our marketing operations through scalable processes, tools, and best practices that drive efficiency and impact
  • Plan and execute several annual high-profile customer and trade events, with the objective of increasing both customer retention and satisfaction, as well as generating new customer leads
  • Build direct and fruitful relationships with our key customers in the regions, proactively developing joint initiatives with them

Who you are

  • You have a relevant university level degree and +7 years of experience in developing and executing B2B international marketing plans
  • You have a strong understanding of effective B2B communications and marketing channels in EMEIA and North America, with the proven ability to develop and execute data-driven marketing campaigns with measurable business results
  • You have the proven capability to turn a company’s commercial strategy and a wide range of topics into compelling, audience-relevant messaging and content, focused on customers
  • You know how to align a marketing strategy and plans with commercial targets
  • You collaborate seamlessly with global and regional teams in cross-functional setups and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • You’re an expert in digital marketing, including key platforms, automation tools, and CRM systems
  • You have excellent communication and project management skills and are experienced in organizing events
  • You have native-level written and spoken English. Knowledge of other main European languages is an asset
  • You are proactive, curious, innovative and solution focused. You manage pressure effectively, know how to set priorities and are a quick learner
