About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the `Courts Group'.

VCAT
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is a justice service that resolves a wide range of disputes for the Victorian community, including renting, planning, and consumer disputes. VCAT is committed to delivering an accessible service for all Victorians and is transforming our digital products and services to make it faster, easier, and more convenient for people to come to the tribunal.
About the Role
The role is critical in enhancing organisational performance through effective system leadership and design. The role will lead efforts to evaluate, maintain and improve internal work systems, ensuring they support strategic alignment, operational resilience and sustainable outcomes.
The requires you to:
- provide strategic leadership in the design, monitoring and improvement of VCAT's work systems to enhance operational effectiveness and user experience
- address orgnisational pain points, reduce failure demand and embed sustainable work practices
- collaborate with senior managers, list leaders and operational teams to align system enhancements with business priorities
- build organisational capability in system leadership and improvement
- represent VCAT in key internal and external forums to promote effective orgnisational design, system accountability, and continuous improvement
The position is a fixed term role for 2 years.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding and application of Systems Leadership and the ability to apply that within an operational environment. You will need a strong understanding of change principles and ideally have experience within VCAT to apply these principles to enhance work systems.
You will also need to have proven skills and abilities to:
- communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate, as required
- understand user perspectives and integrate feedback into system design
- apply a systems lens to organisational challenges
- manage complex projects, balancing competing priorities
- strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge and relevant experience in VCAT's operations.
