Summary

The Role
As Manager Programs, you will lead the coordination and delivery of regional development programs, providing strategic oversight to ensure high‑quality, transparent and effective outcomes. You will guide program design and governance, manage risk, maintain key stakeholder relationships, and drive performance.
You will play a crucial role in designing new funding initiatives, collaborating internally and externally to ensure programs are targeted, evidence‑based and aligned with strategic priorities.
This role includes leading a high‑performing team and offering expert advice to senior executives and Ministerial Offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, development and delivery of regional development programs, ensuring strong governance, risk management, compliance, performance monitoring and high‑quality reporting.
- Scope, design and implement new programs by collaborating with senior internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, risks and desired outcomes.
- Oversee funding allocation and contract management across the full grant lifecycle, working closely with technical experts to ensure accountable and efficient delivery.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, regional stakeholders, peak bodies and industry to support program development, delivery and issue resolution.
- Provide expert, timely advice, briefs and correspondence to senior executives and Ministerial Offices on program performance, risks, emerging issues and strategic opportunities.
- Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team, managing workload, talent development and performance within tight and shifting deadlines.
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments using sound judgement, diplomacy and problem‑solving to address challenges, competing priorities and governance requirements.

- Advanced project and program management capability.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Experience delivering high‑value programs in a government or complex organisational context.
- Sound judgement, political acumen and the ability to provide authoritative advice.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
