Position Summary
Manage all in-park sales functions for WCS Membership products to maximize revenue, enhance guest experience, and support mission of the Wildlife Conservation Society.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Sales, Service & Operations

• Manage on-site membership sales, operations & fulfillment across all WCS properties.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance and advancement of admissions POS system to ensure that visitor access & member data is being properly monitored and recorded.
• Focus and align all staff and operations behind current pricing and ticketing strategies to maximize premium ticket sales, Memberships & Parking products.
• Ensure that all sales objectives are assigned and met according to plan & deadline.
• Promote ongoing innovation and refinement of current practices.
• Ensure that all work locations are clean, organized, and neat, using safety as a guide.
• Execute operations plan for member events.

Personnel Management

• Recruit, hire, orient, and train a high-performing team comprised of full-time & part-time staff at WCS Zoos & Aquarium that demonstrate superior customer service and maximize premium ticket sales.
• Implement departmental training programs focused on successfully selling Admissions products.
• Multi-site, on the job, coaching and training of staff on techniques related to successful selling, customer service, and operations; ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Enforce all department & WCS rules & regulations.
• Schedule and implement hourly staffing plan to maximize sales opportunities and provide excellent customer service within budgeted payroll
• Provide a productive and safe work environment, recognize and reward outstanding achievements, be responsive to team needs and interests, and comply with all federal, state and local labor law and equal opportunity requirements.

Product Management, Expense Control & Protection of Assets

• Monitor and control cash, focus on loss prevention practices, to ensure that funds are being handled in an accurate and secure manner that conforms to WCS policies & procedures.
• Manage inventory of department supplies, materials, and equipment with highest level of integrity (including POS & computer hardware, vehicles, package inventory, t-shirts, flyers, sales collateral, slim jims, etc)

Administration & Cooperative Management

• Collaborate with Business Services Central Office on local reporting and analysis.
• Builds peer support and strong internal organizational relationships with key WCS staff.
• Provide support to the overall Admissions Department operations for day to day core admissions & parking operations coverage, various programs, and events as needed.
• Model behavior as defined by WCS mission, vision, and values.
• Other duties as assigned.

Based at the Bronx Zoo with frequent travel to other WCS parks.

• • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills

Experience

• • 3 to 5 years minimum of management experience in theme park, zoo, or similar venue; in a fast paced, sales & service focused, seasonal environment
  • Experience handling large-scale sales operations, including cash control management

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
