POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Shelter Logistics will work as part of a collaborative team with the Director, Violence Against Women’s Services, the Manager, Outreach and Shelter Facilities, and the Manager, Residential Programming, to support the work of the shelter in accordance with MCCSS Violence Against Women Emergency Shelter Standards, the Collective Agreement, and organizational Policies and Procedures. The successful candidate will work from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and intersectional feminist framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Take responsibility for the daily management of all unionized employees; this includes, creating, updating and overseeing employee schedules in accordance with the Collective Agreement and Organizational policies
· Work in collaboration with Violence Against Women’s Services’ management and the People, Culture and Communication Department to support with identifying job vacancies, interviewing job applicants, and completing performance management processes, among other tasks
· Provide orientation, onboarding, offboarding and training to employees, students and volunteers in the Residential and Outreach programs in accordance with MCCSS Violence Against Women Emergency Shelter Standards, the Collective Agreement, organizational policies and procedures, and other relevant legislation and existing cross-sector protocols
· Act as the COVID-19 Pandemic Lead for Women’s Services. This includes ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment supplies are available, preparing and submitting reports as required, including, but not limited to, MCCSS SOR reporting
· Work with the Volunteer and Student Coordinator as a site contact and liaison; this includes providing orientation, training, tracking and communication
· Manage Residential Client Advocate team, Child & Youth Client Advocate team
· Take responsibility for scheduling and facilitating all staff meetings and staff trainings
· Provide regular updates to other management staff during management meetings and through quarterly written reports
· Complete payroll requirements for Residential and Outreach staff, ensuring the Finance Department receives all necessary documentation and timecard approvals in a timely manner
· Attend weekly meetings with the Director, Violence Against Women’s Services
· Participate in an on-call rotation, providing consultation and support to staff on shift in a 24/7 setting; this includes completing and submitting MCCSS Serious Occurrence Reports when needed
· Organize, update and communicate Health and Safety information to all staff
· Regularly review and update Inasmuch House policies and procedures in consultation with the Director, Violence Against Women’s Services
· Attend sector committee meetings within the VAW and women’s homelessness sectors in Hamilton, as approved/determined by the Director, Violence Against Women’s Services and report back at management meetings, and in required reports
· With Director, Violence Against Women’s Services approval, organize and confirm trainings, public speaking engagements, and any other events required unionized staff attendance
· Adhere to a strict confidentiality policy
· Work safely, identify and report any health and safety concerns, and always follow Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures
· Additional duties as required to ensure the continuation of service delivery
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum diploma in Social Service Work or related field; preference for diploma in Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor and Advocate Studies, or for a degree in Social Work
· Minimum two (2) years of supervisory, management and/or leadership experience; preference for three (3) to four (4) years experience
· Preference for previous experience working within a unionized environment
· Excellent understanding of gender-based violence and child abuse
· Demonstrated understanding of intersectional feminist, anti-oppressive anti-racist and trauma-informed practice
· Excellent risk assessment and non-violent crisis intervention skills
· Demonstrated skills in scheduling, onboarding, team facilitating and growth-focused training
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Confident decision-maker
· Committed to upholding the organization’s mission, vision and values
· Fluency in French or another language is an asset
HOURS OF WORK:
· 37.5 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday
· Ability to work days, evenings, nights, weekday and weekend shifts depending on program needs
· Ability to participate in a 24 hour on-call rotation

COMPENSATION:
· Wage: $75,138.37 annually
