[What the role is]

As a Manager/Senior Manager (Strategic Planning and Media Communications), you will be an integral part of the CAAS Corporate Communications (CC) team. The CC team oversees and drives the strategic storytelling process, with the objective of strengthening CAAS’ position as the aviation sector champion and regulatory authority. A core part of this role is to proactively curate empowering narratives that help to increase awareness and understanding of CAAS policies and initiatives as well as to enhance stakeholder engagement to build greater trust in CAAS.

[What you will be working on]

You will be required to perform multi-disciplinary duties which may include the following areas: strategic communications, messaging development, copywriting and editorial support, media monitoring, crisis communications and issues management, sense-making and data analysis, events management, multi-media collateral development, vendor management and budget management.

A key responsibility of the role will require the officer to work with key policy and
regulatory teams as trusted business partners. The officer is expected to offer strategic communications advice to functional leaders to achieve desired communications outcomes. These may include but not limited to proposing communications strategy considerations, recommendations on appropriate timing of communications actions, content, communication channels (mainstream media/online media/social media) and spokespersons preparation.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Trained in Mass Communications or Journalism
  • Minimally 3 years of experience in media relations or corporate communications.
  • Possess good analytical skills to provide sound communications assessment and judgement to develop impactful communications strategies.
  • Experience in building trusted relationships with mainstream media (print and online) editorial teams.
  • Experience in crisis communications and planning
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require you to be agile and responsive to the needs of multiple stakeholders while managing differing priorities at the same time.
  • Be results-oriented, self-motivated and resourceful with ability to see both the “big picture” and have an eye for detail at the same time.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross functional teams.

Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
