Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual lathes to machine and fabricate components according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Set up machines and tools, following established machine shop procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints to determine machining requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with CNC programmers to coordinate workflow and resolve technical issues.
  • Use measuring equipment and tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot and solve machining problems as they arise, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Lift and secure work parts weighing up to 20 lbs as required for machine setup and operation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating manual lathes in a machine shop environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of machine setup, tool setup, and general machine shop procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, especially in collaborating with CNC programmers and other team members.
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment and precision tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Physical ability to lift 20 lbs and secure heavy work parts as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
