About WIG

WIG is a purpose-driven, not-for-profit membership body that champions collaboration between leaders in business, government, and not-for-profit sectors for the common good. We believe that developing leadership capabilities for cross-sector collaboration is the key to helping build long-term prosperity for everyone in the UK.

With a cross-sector membership base of around 250 organisations – FTSE and professional services companies, central government departments and agencies, local authorities, universities and significant charities - WIG has been convening members for 40 years through three key sets of collaboration-based activities:

  • Events - to explore the latest public policy developments and share best practice;
  • Talent exchange - through mentoring, secondments and board appointments; and
  • Leadership development – through programmes for leaders at all stages of their careers.

An overview of the opportunity

You’ll work closely with our Marketing Manager to provide support to all the functions of the department, spanning content creation, social media support, analytics and reporting, inbox management and email marketing.

  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing tools, such as email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, and website CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and design tools such as Canva is desirable.
  • Experience creating content for social media, email campaigns, or blogs (this can be through internships, coursework, or personal projects).
  • Exposure to managing or contributing to marketing campaigns (academic or professional).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyse data, such as preparing reports or summaries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and creative mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute ideas.
  • Aligned to WIG’s mission, purpose and values.

What can we offer you for your skills and experience?

  • A salary of £24,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Unlimited access to WIG’s 120 events per year, including roundtables, breakfast briefings and our annual D&I conference.
  • Enhanced annual leave including increased leave for length of service, birthday leave, and festive office closure.
  • An opportunity to give back with the ability to take paid time off for up to 40 hours a year for community and volunteering.
  • Health and well-being support including annual BUPA health assessments, annual eye test, employee assistance programme and flexible working opportunities.
  • Blended learning and development opportunities including Internal WIG learning programmes on leadership, EDI and soft skills, access to LinkedIn Learning and our platform, Mentor Match.
  • The chance to join various internal workstreams that drive team building and belonging at WIG including our EDI committee, Social committee and GreenStream.
  • Hybrid working (at least 2 days a week from the office) with access to our office in London, Victoria.

What do some of the main role responsibilities look like?

  • Content Creation: Work with the Marketing Manager and Communications Executive to create fresh, engaging, and impactful content for social media, email, website and print.
  • Social Media & Campaigns: Support paid for and organic LinkedIn activity.
  • Email Marketing: Build and segment email lists and execute targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Gather marketing data and assist in creating insightful performance reports.
  • Website & Digital Media: Maintain and improve the website while supporting digital content creation, including photography and video.
  • Design & Collateral: Design basic assets and manage production of marketing materials for events and campaigns.

How to apply

If you are excited by the role and want to join the WIG team, please submit your application, and let us know if you need any adjustments or considerations throughout the recruitment process, and we will be happy to accommodate you. If you aren't sure what adjustments could look like for you then please email hr@wig.co.uk and we will be happy to help you. Please do not submit your application through this email as we will not consider it.

We believe in transparent hiring practices and want to share what you can expect from our recruitment process:

  • We are a believer in bias disruptors so all applications come through as anonymous, meaning that we do not make any screening decisions based on your name, age or gender.
  • If you have been shortlisted, you will be invited to a first stage 30-minute online interview with the Head of HR where we will learn about your motivations for wanting to join us and we will be discussing your skills and experiences and how they align with the requirements of the role. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about WIG.
  • The final stage will encompass a panel interview where you will have the opportunity to meet your potential line manager and Head of department to find our more about your role and your team.
  • Sometimes our candidate pools are super strong so we may decide that we want you to take up a skills assessment. If this does happen at any point, you will be given the opportunity to complete the test in your own time, we will not retain any of your IP and we will provide a brief of what we are expecting to see.
