Position: Marketing Strategist
Reports to: People Leader, Product
Position Term: Full Time Permanent
Primary Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Job Purpose:
The Marketing Strategist, within the Product Ministry at World Vision Canada, will play a critical role on our Agile product delivery teams, leaning into their marketing expertise and experience in functional leadership. In this dynamic position, you'll be responsible for identifying and driving marketing strategy and execution, based on the defined product vision and priorities. As part of the Agile team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with hands-on execution, as much as strategy formulation itself, there in having full engagement throughout the product marketing cycle.
Responsibilities:
Drive marketing excellence in planning, execution, and analysis.
- Product Marketing: Identify opportunities, develop plans, and present to key stakeholders or leadership, as appropriate. Driven by the prioritized product backlog, work cross-functionally to turn ideas into impactful digitally-centered marketing activations. Your decisions will directly influence the ease with which our supporters connect with those in need.
- Strategic Visioning: Craft and share a compelling product marketing plans and implementations, aligning it with our mission to uplift vulnerable communities. Your strategic foresight will shape digital experiences that touch hearts and inspire action.
- Practice Leadership: Seek and maximize opportunities to indirectly lead, mentor, and inspire a subset of our Agile team. Demonstrate functional leadership and help grow talents of those directly working in the same marketing community of practice. Help foster a culture where every idea is valued and every team member feels empowered.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Be the voice of the Agile team’s marketing approach. Partner with the Product Owner in ideation and planning towards a cohesive marketing strategy, in alignment with the Product Owner’s roadmap and prioritized backlog. Share progress, gather feedback, and maintain a transparent dialogue with stakeholders. Your communication skills will bridge gaps and build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of the curve in marketing, digital and humanitarian trends. Lead initiatives to refine our processes, always seeking ways to do more good, more efficiently.
- Release Planning: Plan and coordinate marketing activation launches, including defining business goals, risks, managing dependencies, and ensuring that releases meet quality standards and timelines.
- Metrics and KPIs: Feed into and maintain enterprise-level reporting. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of go-to-market activities. Use data and feedback to make data-driven decisions and improvements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that customer journey meets high-quality standards, is thoroughly tested and optimized, and is aligned with the organization's values and goals.
- Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, Media or similar discipline
- 10 years+ of relevant experience in Marketing / Media
- Experience with enterprise-level marketing technology, such as Adobe marketing tools
- Hands-on experience with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
- Ability to optimize content for SEO
- Experience in retention or customer facing campaign management within a marketing environment, utilizing data driven decision making
- Understanding of web/mobile development and the capacity to quickly navigate the changing digital landscape
- Experience working directly with internal/external clients in a face-to-face environment
- Experience working with and managing agencies and external vendors
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- Experience working with customer journey management an asset
- Working knowledge of development process and project management an asset
- Understanding and experience working with/in Lean Agile Scrum methodology an asset
