Job Title: Material Handler FLSA status: Non-Exempt

Department: Material Services Group Reports to: Material Services Coordinator

Position Summary: Operate department power lift equipment, transport/put away/deliver freight, stock, finished goods or other materials and performs general tasks associated with material handling tasks to assist and support receiving, manufacturing and delivery of quality products.

Qualifications:

Required:

· Basic reading, math and computer skills

· Able to communicate effectively in a team environment

  • Achieve/maintain IPC tow motor operation permit
  • Able to lift and maneuver up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to complete within a daily multi-task environment
  • Learn IPC customer part numbers, containers
  • Learn IPC material items (raw, components, assembly)
  • Self-motivated, dependable and organized
  • Able to work in team environment
  • Possess valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles (non-CDL)

Preferred:

  • Prior powered lift truck material handling experience
  • Warehouse experience (shipping, receiving)
  • Basic knowledge of IPC materials and parts/assemblies/components

Primary Position responsibilities as applicable to Shipping, Receiving and Manufacturing Support:

  • Operate powered lift equipment safely and responsibly, perform daily checks
  • Locate parts/containers/materials and store/deliver/return to proper destination, with correct identification
  • Communicate with Manufacturing, Shipping, Inventory and Planning Teams on material issues
  • Complete required paperwork/documentation as required
  • Unload/load commercial carrier vehicles and trailers consisting of customer containers, customer part shipments, return materials, incoming raw material items or other freight as directed
  • Cross train to perform Inventory/Receiving Material Handler tasks receiving/storing materials
  • Cross train to perform Shipping Material Handler tasks supporting customer shipments
  • Follow applicable quality procedures for FIFO, material stock rotation, finished goods storage locations
  • Perform container support duties (unload/sort/inspect/clean/store/deliver)

· Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader and/or Coordinator to include special projects, programs and developmental activities.

  • Physical demands:While performing various tasks of this job, the employee may be subject to significant sitting, standing, walking, pushing/maneuvering up to 75 lbs., repetitive motion (twisting, lifting, kneeling and bending). Possible exposure to high noise levels (hearing protection is provided).
  • Work environment:This job is performed in open warehouse and manufacturing environment.

IPC team members are expected to adhere to all company policies and to act as a role model in the adherence to policies. Responsibility of all IPC team members include but are not limited to:

A) Being a team player and assisting co-workers as needed

B) Participating in employee involvement programs

C) Obeying safety procedures and working in a safe manner

D) Maintaining a clean work area

E) Supporting and participating in the lean manufacturing processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
