Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including but not limited to all requirements outlined in Sections 27 and 28
- Review, understand and comply with all policies and procedures in the Dresden Industrial Health and Safety Manual.
- Participate as required, during emergencies as part of the Emergency Response Team
- Maintain quality standards on all products and processes
- Exercise compliance with Quality Management Systems when implementing and performing all company procedures
- Integrate environmental practices and commit to the continuous improvement of the EMS
- Exercise compliance with ISO 14001 standards
- Oversee outgoing and incoming shipping activities
- Accountable to ensure every shipment is accurately labelled, ships to the correct location and arrives on time.
- Supervise shipping and repack area personnel
- Assist with the proper training and orientation of new shipping personnel
- Responsible for enforcing all safety policies in the Shipping department / Repack area and ensuring a clean and organized environment using the 5S Program.
- Elevate shipping shortages, damaged goods and discrepancies with inventory to Management
- Conduct regular finished goods inventory reconciliation
- Accountable for a container management program and initiate claims
- Assist in new packaging designs, reductions and maintain customer packaging databases (Fleet Calculators)
- Accountable for recording, tracking and maintaining documentation for expedited freight shipments.
- Assist in minimizing obsolesces
- Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Liaison with customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Responsible to ensure customer scorecard targets are met
- Check customer portals as per customer requirements
- Customer disputes such as ASN violations and timeliness, Behind Schedule Shipments, Short Shipments etc.
- Ensuring tickets are answered within the allotted timeframes as specified from all customers including weekends when necessary.
- Ensure shipping personnel receive customer specific portal training.
