Math Instructor/Tutor

This is a part-time math tutoring position for K-12 graders in our Riverdale Learning Center. Please note this position is for our Riverdale (Bronx) location and not other Mathnasium centers. We will only consider candidates who can reliably commute to this location.

The starting salary is $18 per hour and the hours are flexible. We are looking for responsible, long-term instructors that will be with us throughout the school year and who can work at least 2 shifts per week. The shifts are Monday-Thursday 3-7, and Sunday 12-4.

The responsibilities are:

• Teach/tutor in our Learning Center in Riverdale using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction
• Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes while documenting the student's progress
• Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra 2
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
• Responsible and available to work a minimum of two shifts a week
• Big Plusses: Experience with ISEE, Specialized High School Admissions Test (Bronx Science) and PSAT/SAT.

We are looking for responsible, long-term instructors that will be with us throughout the school year.

All applicants are required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency.

Our location is very convenient to public transportation--express bus and local bus stop very near the door.

Compensation is $18 up depending on experience and qualifications.
