Job Summary

We are looking for a new Mechanical Design Intern to be based in Dundalk.

Summary:

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Manager, this role will be part of an excellent team, in Dundalk, Ireland.

What a typical day looks like:

Creating 3D mechanical designs of switchboards & associated products ready for production / fabrication purposes
Ensuring drawings issued to the shop floor are controlled, accurate and easy to follow
Providing assistance to Production/Test to resolve problems with new & existing product designs
Assisting with Shop Floor operations, Site operations and Client Witness Testing as required
Liaising with Project Managers and the Mechanical Design Manager on the development of the library of standard drawings
Travelling to client sites on occasion to carry out surveys

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

3rd level degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Work experience in a related engineering field will be considered in lieu of an engineering degree
No previous work experience is necessary however familiarity with some or all of the following would be beneficial:
- 3D modelling software and design techniques
- Sheet metal design and fabrication processes
- Electrical schematics
- Electrical power distribution products
Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines and work as part of a team or independently as required
Good level of numeracy & literacy skills, as well as accuracy & attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Fluent English language skills and eligible to work in Ireland (EU)
