About the Company:

Aerowork is a 100% owned subsidiary of Ravensdown Ltd and is engaged in aerial application of fertilisers as an essential service for hill country farming and as such, plays an important part in ensuring New Zealand farmers can produce food sustainably. The company currently has 12 operational aircraft supported by more than 35 Loader trucks capable of loading and spreading different fertilizer types across different regions in NZ.

About the Role:

We are looking for a qualified or equivalently experienced mechanical fitter to join with our Truckshop Engineering Supervisor to maintain and keep our fleet of Loader Trucks roadworthy and compliant to NZTA compliance standards. This is a role that has a mix of workshop (so called "Truckshop") activities as well as being out in the field carrying out minor repairs on our unique trucks which in turn keeps our flight operations going.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on our specially designed Loader Trucks. These have large volume aircraft fuel tanks and digger type functionality.
• Contribute to the day to day running of the Truckshop and engineering tasks such as planning workloads to ensure availability and reliability of Loader trucks and support vehicles (Utes).
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safety, reliability and compliance (COF)
• Identify and act on any improvements and initiatives.
• Communicate daily with the different Aerowork bases on the status of Loader trucks maintenance and repairs.
• Work with and coordinate third parties who are performing work on our Loader Trucks
• General administration tasks such as updating of maintenance schedules, purchasing and contractor oversight
• Ensure required inventory components and consumables are available and stored safely (fuel, oils, lubes etc).

Ideal Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, standards and procedures working with both imperial and metric systems.
• Understanding and work experience with mechanical and systems.
• Light metal fabrication and welding skills.
• A high attention to detail with a strong focus on job safety and quality.
• Clean driver's license. Class 2 would be an advantage.
• Computer skills would be beneficial (Microsoft tools)
• Be happy to work on your own or as part of a small team
• Good communicator
