Position Summary

This position serves Bernard Becker Medical Library, working closely with library leadership and reporting to the library director.

The Media-Marketing Administrator plans, develops, refines, and implements targeted marketing initiatives based on library needs and priorities. Develops, writes, designs and produces final product communications and advertisements for internal and external delivery, including website, newsletter and social media content, as well as posters and handouts. Effectively defines and tracks established and potential markets; tracks impact to measure and modify.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management

  • Develops and manages marketing content for diverse platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, and print materials.


Marketing Strategy Development

  • Creates and implements marketing strategies to increase awareness and engagement with library services, programs, and resources.


Social Media Management

  • Manages and curates the library's social media presence, engaging users and promoting library initiatives.


Market Research

  • Conducts research to understand user needs and preferences and identify new marketing opportunities.

Collaboration and Communication

Works with other librarians, faculty, and staff to coordinate marketing efforts and ensure consistent messaging.

Event Promotion and Coordination

  • Promotes library events and workshops through various marketing channels. Provides basic event planning and coordination, such as room reservations, catering, and registration.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Tracks and analyzes the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and makes data-driven decisions.

Staying Current

  • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and trends in library marketing and communication.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
