Southern Maryland Medical Group is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. We offer great benefits and competitive pay.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements: Certification from a Medical Assistant Program required. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and understanding HIPAA Guidelines. Must be able to work independently and in a team setting with other staff.

Essential Medical Assistant Functions:

• Patient Triage
• Obtains weight, height, vitals signs prior to going into the room.
• Enters the patient’s vitals into the computer, as well as the chief complaint, LMP, and any new medications.
• Performs ECG’s on patients and inputs the proper information in the EMR system.
• Requests all labs and hospital results and scan to patient chart.
• Answers the telephone to answer patient questions and making appointments.
• Uses good judgment in decision making and communicating with all patients and colleagues.
• Communicates any patient, personnel, or electronic system problems with the appropriate supervising Manager in a timely fashion.

Experience:

• Medical Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License:

• CMA/CNA (Required)
