Job description
Position Overview: Part time 32 Hours weekly
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to support our physicians and clinical team in delivering exceptional healthcare services. As a Medical Assistant at Bristol Primary Care LLC, you will play a key role in patient care by providing clinical assistance, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic.
Schedule: Monday to Thursday
Pay Range: $20 to $23/Hour
Medical Specialty -Primary Care Internal Medicine
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature).
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare specimens for outside testing as needed.
- Administer injections and vaccines, as directed by the physician.
- Draw blood for lab tests and other diagnostic procedures.
- Assist with patient education regarding treatment plans and medication instructions.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, verifying insurance, and processing medical records.
- Handle patient inquiries, providing information or directing them to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or primary care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and patient care protocols.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (experience with EPIC EMR a plus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
- CPR certification required (BLS certification preferred).
