Medical Billing Representative-Dermatology

Southern Illinois Dermatology is a busy dermatology clinic with offices located throughout southern Illinois. Southern Illinois Dermatology seeks full time Medical Billing Representative. We offer a competitive benefit package for full time candidates. All billing is done from our corporate office located in Herrin, Illinois. We are looking for a team member who wants long term and stable employment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing required
• Advanced experience with electronic processes including but not limited to EDI & ERA
• Experience with Nextgen Healthcare medical software preferred but not required
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives

Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

• CPT/ICD-10 knowledge along with appropriate modifier usage
• Review, prepare and electronically submit insurance claims.
• Investigate claim denials, develop claims and/or appeal when necessary
• Post manual and electronic payments from patients, insurance companies, and all sources.
• Maintain organized records for appropriate follow-up with all sources
• Answer phone calls and communicate with patients and staff in a professional, respectful, kind manner
• Analyze outstanding claims and follow-up/appeal as necessary
• Maintain knowledge of insurance and dermatology billing practices and procedures
• Working knowledge of full scope revenue cycle management process required including encounter/claim creation, payments/EOBs/ERAs, denial management, A/R follow up, and guarantor responsibility
