Job Summary:

Medical Practice Front Desk Representative

Job Title: Front Desk Representative for 25-35 hours weekly in the Village at Woodside in Aiken SC

General Statement of Duties: Employee must be cheerful and a people person. They must be able to provide excellent customer service to patients and their families; check patients in/out, verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits, collect copays, answer phones and schedule appointments. We can give sign on bonus to the right qualified person who stays with our company

Experience: At least one years’ experience in a medical practice performing front desk work, making appointments, insurance verification is needed.

APPLICANT NEEDS EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS (friendly and smiling), and medical insurance knowledge. Will need to know how to schedule appointments, verify insurance and handle phones and help run the office.

You must have reasonable computer skills, understand insurance submissions and prior approvals, and be able to check insurance eligibility. If you are fantastic, and know it, and have great references, then apply. The owner is honest and pleasant, thoughtful and looks out for employees and would be willing to give a signing bonus to someone completely competent already, who could start right away.

We would even consider temporary employment for the right person if desired.

Duties include: Greeting patients, answering calls, handling messages, scheduling appointments and working with other staff to help office run efficiently. Receptionist will accurately handle prescription requests, medical chart information, schedule referrals with other physician offices and ensure that insurance referrals are made if required. The receptionist MUST BE CHEERFUL AND PLEASANT at all times, well-groomed and able to multi-task without showing stress to the public. The receptionist should coordinate care with other care team members to provide exceptional patient service. The receptionist is responsible for collecting co-payments and deductibles at the time of service and accurately posting payments in the computer; balancing same with the computer printout at the end of the day.

Experience: 2-3 years experience in a health care setting (registration knowledge, medical terminology experience preferred). Excellent customer service skills. Experience in scheduling healthcare services or obtaining insurance verifications and authorizations for healthcare services is strongly preferred.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Ability to organize and manage competing priorities. Ability to problem solve and show good judgment. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems and ability to key data into medical computer system accurately. Must be able to balance charges and payments to end of day reports.

Other: Must have good computer skills and use of General Office Equipment including, but not limited to: fax machine, printer, scanner, credit card devices, and copier.
