Job Summary:

We are looking for a Referral Coordinator that will be responsible for managing the day-to-day referrals for all Valora Medical Group Centers. They will interact with our clinical and corporate teams. The referral coordinator will work directly with the patients and assist with setting up appointments for new and existing patients.

To be successful as a Referral Coordinator, one must be organized and posses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be able to multitask at a high level without dropping in quality of work. One must also display great customer service skills as at Valora Medical Group, we treat our patients like family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule specialist appointments and/or diagnostic orders, as needed
  • Assemble information concerning patients’ clinical background and referral needs
  • Create and Update patient information for existing and new patients in the electronic medical record platform
  • Completes the referral request in the electronic medical record system
  • Anticipates, gathers, and sends information to insurance carrier and/or provider needed for obtaining referral or prior authorization for required preliminary testing
  • Coordinate appointments as need with outside facilities and specialist
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements: Qualifications/Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ experience processing medical referrals, preferably for Primary Care
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required for this clinic location
  • Experience in the healthcare industry desired but not required
  • Full understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Experience with the EMR system eClinicalWorks (eCW) is highly preferred
  • Must have effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new procedures and adapt quickly to change
  • Innovative, motivated, organized, and team player
  • Follow through with commitments.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proactive and self-starter.
