The Department of Pharmacy at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland City Hospital has a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Medicines Supply & Logistics Manager role. The Medicines Supply & Logistics Manager will be responsible for the busy inpatient dispensary, infusions/chemotherapy/antibiotic infusions supply, inventory, distribution and clinical trials services at Auckland City Hospital. The key focus is to provide operational management, team leadership and professional governance to ensure the delivery of a quality, safe and efficient supply of medicines and investigational medicinal products.
The main responsibilities of this important management role will be:
- Leading, co-ordinating and managing the supply & logistics teams
- Delivering cost savings and strategic goals and achieving key performance indicators
- Actively managing risks, investigating errors and near misses and implementing remedial actions
- Conducting one on ones and appraisals with staff and supervising their training and development to work at the top of their scope
- Ensuring dispensary and compounding facilities, Standard Operating - Procedures and all medicine supply practices comply with legislation
- Liaising with senior staff regarding staffing, rosters, rotations and daily cover

- B. Pharm. or other recognised pharmacy qualification
- NZ registered pharmacist who holds a current APC with the Pharmacy Council of NZ
- Post-graduate qualification and/or demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
- Minimum of 5+ years hospital pharmacy experience in NZ
- Leadership and management of operational hospital pharmacy service(s)
- Demonstrated effective staff management, supervision, and leadership skills
- Applied understanding of legislation relevant to the dispensing, compounding, and supply of medicines
- A high work ethic, be accurate and reliable and set a good example in all interactions
- Excellent organisational, written, and oral communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of staff/customers
- Successful pharmacy licencing, quality audit or project experience Ability to see service issues from the customer perspective
- A passion for operational pharmacy, enthusiasm and a positive personality
- Resourcefulness and resilience and be able to cope under pressure
- Flexibility, support change and be results driven
- IT literacy including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
