MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC

Part-time RECEPTIONIST/Patient Account Representative

Our private mental health practice is seeking an experienced receptionist who has also worked with insurance and patient accounts. The preferred candidate has a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in this role at a previous mental health/medical practice facility.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers multi-line telephones courteously, assists callers, and documents clearly
  • Verifies new client insurance eligibility, inputs demographic information, sends and receives intake forms, schedules new appointments
  • Verifies client information, checks clients in or out promptly, schedules follow-up appointments
  • Collects client copays, coinsurances, and/or balances confidently
  • Maintains therapists’ schedules
  • Demonstrates experienced with electronic medical record systems, Word and Excel computer programs, and accurate data entry
  • Reviews accounts for overdue insurance or patient payments
  • Manages accounts in collections; manages discharge reports
  • Assists billing manager with other tasks
  • Uses and oversees fax/printer, scanner, and other office machines
  • Addresses medical record requests and other office needs
  • Receives, sorts, and routes phone messages, mail, and faxes
  • Maintains files and records
  • Other clerical duties as needed such as filing, photocopying, collating, and completing special assignments
  • Maintains office supplies, forms, and office stationery
  • Maintains a tidy appearance of the office and waiting room

  • Understands HIPAA guidelines and maintains confidentiality

Job Type:

32hours/week, Monday - Thursday

Education:

  • High School but Associate degree (Preferred)

Wages: To be discussed

Experience:

  • 2-3 years medical/mental health receptionist/administrative assistant

Benefits:
