Where you'll be working


Coral Tree Family Service, North Ryde

What you'll be doing
You will work directly with children and their families in a structured residential program, delivering practical, in-the-moment therapeutic support to help families manage complex emotional and behavioural challenges.
Working as part of a small multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to care planning, support families to develop new ways of interacting, and help translate therapeutic approaches into everyday family life. The role includes close collaboration with colleagues, shared clinical decision-making, and regular opportunities for joint work and reflection.

This position includes working two evenings per week (either Monday–Tuesday or Wednesday–Thursday) to support families during their stay. Coral Tree is closed on weekends and public holidays.

You will be supported through a structured orientation and onboarding process, with ongoing supervision, training and in-situ coaching to help you develop the specialist skills required for this model of care. The role provides opportunities to build advanced clinical skills and contribute to the ongoing development of practice within the service.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Recognised qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist with current registration through the relevant Professional Board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility for Membership for Social Workers with the AASW.
  • Post qualification experience that demonstrates the ability to provide a range of mental health interventions to children with severe emotional and behavioural problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clients presenting with a range of challenging behaviours.
