We are a growing mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to our clients. As we expand our services, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team and ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered.

Position Overview:

The Mental Health Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing billing operations related to Workers’ Compensation, No-Fault Insurance, and handling EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) rejections. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance regulations, billing procedures, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve claim issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit and track claims for Workers’ Compensation and No-Fault Insurance.
  • Review and resolve EDI rejections and claim denials.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and internal staff to resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities and follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with monthly reporting and reconciliation of accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in mental health.
  • Strong knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and No-Fault billing procedures.
  • Experience handling EDI rejections and resubmissions.
  • Familiarity with billing software and clearinghouses (e.g., Office Ally, Availity).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with EMR systems (e.g., SimplePractice, TherapyNotes).
  • Knowledge of CPT codes and ICD-10 coding for mental health services.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.64 - $30.88 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
