This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Anderson County Clinic, 1 Linwa Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.

As a Mental Health Professional II, under general supervision of the Chief of Clinical Operations, serves as the Anderson Center Manager of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center (AOPMHC.)

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II:
  • Coordinates and manages the Anderson Center ensuring the smooth and efficient overall operation of the clinic in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards. Supervise the treatment team meetings and assignment of patients to clinicians. Provide group and individual supervision to supervisees while consistently evaluating the productivity and effectiveness of staff.
  • Serves on the AOP Mental Health Center Leadership Team and other assigned committees. Provides consultation to the Executive Director and Chief of Clinical Operations on an on-going basis.
  • Coordinates with Community Stake Holders developing good relationships with Probate Court, Probation, Pardon, and Parole, Anderson County Detention Center, AnMed Hospital, the Public Defender’s Office and others. Gathers necessary data to evaluate programs and file necessary reports for justice involved programs.
  • Perform clinical duties as needed to support operations and keep the Anderson Center within OMH service standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
Additional Requirements
  • Licensed or pursuing licensure as an LPC, LISW, or LMFT within six months of hire.
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff members.
  • Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, drive from location to location, lift and file.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
  • A master’s degree in social sciences and four years of post-graduate experience one year of which must have been in a community mental health program or 48 hours toward a doctorate in psychology and three years of post-graduate experience one year of which must have been in a community mental health program.

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
  • Ability to perform all jobs duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF, OMH, CCMH, Quality Assurance, Compliance HIPAA, Transcultural and Productivity Standards, Policies and Procedures.
