Carrigtwohill Family Support Centre (CFRC) AIMS:

Roles and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will carry out their duties as advised at interview, together with those outlined in the job description provided and in the Staff handbook. These duties and responsibilities are not an exhaustive list and evolve in line with legislation, Carrigtwohill FRC policies and the continuing development of the service. From time to time you may be required to undertake other reasonable duties or be allocated to other areas of responsibility in accordance with the best interests of the service and its clients. All employees are required to be flexible in this regard.
This position will suit an experienced Mental Health, Counsellor or Social Worker who wishes to progress their career in a local community support role.
This position is part-time (18.5 hours per week) over the period Monday to Friday (Hours and days to be agreed with the Project Coordinator)
Key Duties
Support Project Coordinator, Mental Health Support team and clients.
This is a pivotal role within the FRC and the work is of a complex nature including working with those at risk of suicide. As a consequence, it requires a suitably qualified individual, mature in nature and with significant experience in the area of mental health and family support.
Working closely with the Project Coordinator to deliver a comprehensive and safe service to the community. The service provides Adult counselling, Adolescent Counselling and Family Support. The main duties of this role are:
Key Areas of Work
· Function as the Clinical lead by coordinating the work of the mental health support team on a day-to-day basis and allocate clients / referrals to mental health support workers, counsellors and relevant team members based on assessed need, risk, worker suitability, capacity and service priorities.
· Undertake generic and risk assessments with individuals including young people.
· Provide early and brief intervention using evidence-based interventions, demonstrating good practice at all times.
· Liaise with colleagues within Education, Health and Social Services (Adult / Children Services) and professionals within external agencies (including statutory agencies) in the management of emotional wellbeing, mental health issues and substance misuse in so far as is practicable.
· Maintain accurate, confidential records of clinical practice and ensure timely completion of reports, statistical returns, service metrics, counsellor/client activity summaries, audits and other data collection requirements.
· Participate in clinical supervision for support and guidance.
· Contribute to the recruitment, induction and onboarding of counsellors, students, volunteers/placement staff and other relevant mental health personnel, including assessing suitability and fit for the service, in conjunction with the Coordinator.
· Liaise with MTU and other training bodies regarding placement opportunities and supervise/support students in conjunction with the relevant institution throughout placement / work experience periods.
· Work with the Coordinator, administration and finance colleagues to ensure clear operational processes around referrals, invoicing, purchase orders, payments, partner communications and externally funded / partner-delivered interventions.
· Identify operational or systems issues affecting service delivery and work proactively with colleagues to improve consistency, efficiency and data quality across the team.
General Duties and Responsibilities
· Support the FRC by engaging with frontline service providers and the wider local community, in raising awareness and understanding of mental health, and in building local capacity to promote positive mental health and resilience within the community.
· Ensure that the work of the Mental Health Support team is in keeping with the aims and objectives of the Family Resource Centre Programme.
· Work closely with the Co-ordinator to promote and support local voluntary and community activities that benefit the target groups of the Programme and address disadvantage and inequalities in ways that are respectful and non-discriminatory.
· Work with the Co-ordinator to identify funding sources.
· Undertake other duties as may be requested by the Coordinator from time to time.

Minimum Requirements
· Third level qualification in Community Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, Educational), Social Care, Counselling / Psychotherapy or Occupational Therapy
· Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in experience of working with early and brief intervention in Primary Care or Mental Health settings.
· Demonstrable team management experience, together with organisational and administration skills.
· A pragmatic, sensible and mature individual who has demonstrated their competence in a similar responsible role.
Ability to communicate effectively with people in the English language (verbally and in writing) and provide information using a range of communication methods including social media and newsletters.
Receipt of satisfactory written references and Garda vetting
Pay: From €20.25 per hour
