Job Summary
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) Inside Sales Representative with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience. Based at our branch facility, you will serve as the primary technical advisor and sales expert for our trade customers. You will leverage your extensive product expertise across multiple trades to manage accounts, process complex orders, and drive counter and phone sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Support: Assist walk-in counter customers and phone-in clients with product selection, order placement, and technical inquiries.
- Multi-Trade Consultation: Provide expert guidance across plumbing systems, electrical components, HVAC equipment, and workplace safety gear.
- Order Management: Process quotes, purchase orders, and returns accurately using our proprietary ERP inventory system.
- Technical Sourcing: Locate hard-to-find parts and coordinate with vendors to secure specialized products for complex job requirements.
- Account Retention: Proactively follow up on open quotes, track backorders, and resolve customer service issues to maintain high retention.
- Showroom Merchandising: Maintain an organized counter area and ensure promotional safety and tool displays are fully stocked.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of inside sales or counter experience within plumbing, electrical, or HVAC wholesale distribution.
- Product Knowledge: Strong cross-functional understanding of lighting, electrical wiring/panels, BAS systems, tools and OSHA/safety compliance products.
- Customer Service: Proven track record of building trust and managing high-volume trade desks with professional contractors.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify alternative product solutions when primary stock is unavailable.
- Tech Savvy: High proficiency with wholesale ERP systems, inventory management software, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Efficiency: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and manage heavy phone or counter traffic.
Pay: $34,500.00-$69,500.00 per year
