About the Opportunity

RAM Elevators & Lifts Inc. is an industry leading, Edmonton-based manufacturer of residential and commercial elevators and accessibility lifts. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Metal Prep.

About the role

The Metal Prep works alongside our other shop teams to help create RAM’s quality products for our commercial and residential clients. This individual must be detail-oriented and accurate in their work, must demonstrate their reliability as a team member.

Responsibilities

· Material handling

· Drill, tap, cut, and grind metal

· Use of overhead crane for material handling

· Follow blueprints to ensure proper cut lengths and placement of holes

· Help with shop organization and cleanliness

· Assist in other areas of the shop as required

· Contribute to a safe workplace for all

Qualifications

· Previous experience in a similar role considered an asset

· Familiarity with drill press, grinders, tape measures and other basic hand tools

· Ability to read blueprints

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Team player and follows direction

· Valid first aid, crane operator, forklift certification is a plus.

Work Conditions

· Stable work and predictable schedule

· Hazards associated with working in a fabrication shop (i.e. noise, machinery, heat)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00 per hour
