General Summary:

Provides routine and emergency communication and coordination between various surface and underground locations, sections and departments. Maintains logs, reports and records related to mining activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides communication link and coordination support for surface and underground activities concerning the distribution of parts, materials, equipment, services, hoisting rates and in response to emergency and abnormal situations or production delays. Briefs oncoming supervisory personnel as to the status of mine operations.

Collects and compiles mine production, maintenance and employee data for logs, reports, records and summaries.

Operates plant switchboard, routes calls to appropriate personnel, calls mine overtime as directed.

Coordinates and oversees activities of Toplanders, Bottomlanders, custodians and hoist operators. (No direct supervision). Must be able to work rotating twelve (12) hour shifts.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess maturity, tact, excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Must exhibit sound judgement, be well organized and have the ability to remain calm under emergency situations. Must be knowledgeable of related computer programs and systems.

Education and/or Experience:
High School degree or equivalent is required with one to two years of related work experience and/or education. Working knowledge and understanding of underground mining related activities is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $37.00 per hour
