YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Mine Training Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining heavy equipment and mine operations training programs; providing effective in-field and classroom-based instruction and assessments. You will ensure that department goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Reporting to the Mine Training Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining heavy equipment and mine operations training programs; providing effective in-field and classroom-based instruction and assessments. You will ensure that department goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Provide in-field and classroom-based instruction in accordance with the master training matrix and progression plans;
- Administer testing material to evaluate competency levels in both theoretical and practical applications;
- Assist trainees by providing on-going mentoring to attain higher levels of competencies and skill sets;
- Undertake regular reviews of curriculum and update as may be required to ensure effective delivery and adherence to legislation;
- Track training progress and training effectiveness;
- Provide reports on completed training sessions and individualized trainee progress;
- Develop training curriculum related to manufacturer’s specifications and operational/maintenance;
- procedures, corporate and regulatory standards and objectives;
- Stay current with mining operations and changes to equipment and procedures;
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures as required;
- Ensure adherence to document control procedures and best practices;
- Ensure Mine Operations deliverables are maintained with operating equipment as needs arise.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum 7 years’ experience operating heavy equipment in an open pit mining environment, with 3 years’ in a mine training role;
- Experience operating large-scale CAT mining equipment, Haul trucks CAT 777, CAT 795 and CAT 798, dozers, graders and hydraulic CAT 6060 shovels;
- CAT 7495 rope shovel experience is considered an asset;
- MTCU certified in surface miner common core and specialty modules;
- Train the trainer qualification;
- Experience developing training programs;
- Strong listening, communication, and presentation skills;
- Ability to articulate complex mining and operating terminology and processes to variable experience trainees;
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues that may arise during infield training;
- Ability to motivate and influence others;
- Attention to detail;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
Compensation Statement
In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
