Mobile Bakery Van Operator

We are looking for a Mobile Bakery Van Operator to join our busy retail team.

Hours: 35 per week (Monday to Friday)

Wage: £12.28 per hour

We are expanding our team and looking for a motivated and positive mobile bakery van operator who puts customer service at the heart of everything they do.

Job Overview:

This is a full-time position, where your week will be split between days out on the mobile bakery van (Jiffy Van) and days working as part of a small team in the bakery. Whilst working on the Jiffy Van you will be the sole driver and operator; following a set schedule and route you will visit various businesses in the local area and serve a loyal and friendly customer base.

Responsibilities and Duties (not exhaustive)

Jiffy Van

• Serve all customers who visit the Jiffy Van in a friendly manner.
• Ensure that you arrive at each stop on time and prepared.
• Follow guidelines/rotas for cleaning of the van as required.
• Display the products in the van in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
• Complete daily check sheets as required.
• Adjust stock levels daily to minimise waste and maximise sales.
• Take care of customer complaints and resolve or escalate as required.
• Ensure all money is accounted for and handed in at the end of each shift.

Bakery

• Pack and/or prepare for dispatch products as necessary for distribution to both business and retail customers.
• Assist with the preparation of products for further manufacture.
• Assist with regular stock checks of products/ingredients/packaging.
• Assist in all aspects of production as instructed by the dayshift Packing Team Leader or Bakery Manager.

Reporting, Documentation and Communication

• Complete required electronic checks including daily vehicle checks, and check sheets for hygiene/operational compliance.
• Ensure that traceability forms are completed when required.
• Complete required paperwork relating to packing or production of products.
• Complete all relevant training in a timely manner.
• Liaise with relevant manager/supervisor on operational matters.
• Work together with counterpart to ensure the successful daily operation of the Jiffy Van.
• Attend regular one to one’s with Retail Area Manager regarding Jiffy Van.
• Liaise with external customers and contractors as required.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

Candidates must have a valid UK Driver's licence and be comfortable driving, parking and manoeuvring a small van. Proven retail and customer service experience (minimum of 2 years) is essential. You must be a good problem-solver and have clear and effective communication skills. You must be competent in cash handling and have good organisational skills. A passion for quality for maintaining high quality standards is crucial and is what keeps our customers coming back time and time again.
