Ministry and County Correspondence

  • Maintaining correspondence with the ministry. Update CCLS whenever needed.
  • Checking and updating one list/ waitlist.
  • Ensuring health and safety is maintained at the school by implementing the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Review and contacting one list.

Staff

Classroom Set up

Works with a team to establish and maintain a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a high-quality childcare program can operate.
Monitoring Classroom set up and organization on a regular basis.

Staff and Class observation

  • Providing support to the staff at all times. Classroom/staff observation is required on a semi- monthly, A copy of the observation is kept in the teachers file a copy must be emailed at the end of the month and sent to head office.
  • Working closely with the teachers to ensure the school curriculum is implemented and maintain school standard.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Ensuring fair distribution of work among all the staff. Identifying problems and rectifying them.
  • Maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of staff.

Curriculum

  • Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen. Training and facilitating teacher’s development. To oversee that teachers, plan and implement programs of stimulating activities and developmentally appropriate activities for children, following the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen? According to AVMS curriculum.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • To oversee that teachers, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activities to children.
  • Checking staff and children planning and records on a regular basis.
  • Conducting staff meetings.
  • Staff Workshops to be held once every six months, in total 2 workshops in a year.
  • Recruiting staff and reviewing staff performance regularly.

Parents:

Environment:
Maintaining a positive relationship between school and parents. Identifying problems and rectifying them.
Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children and families.

Communication:

  • Supporting staff and families in a positive manner. Creating a nurturing environment at the school for everyone.
  • Is able to maintain day to correspondence with parents and teachers.
  • Making sure that Daily / 3 report cards are being sent home on yearly bases for toddlers andpreschoolers.
  • Plan for Parent and Teacher interviews – “Parent Nights”.

Supporting Staff and families:
Supporting teachers and families in identifying special needs and providing necessary support.
Giving a tour to the new prospective parents. Help in answering parents and families with their questions and queries. Organizing open houses.
Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents and guardians. And start the process with the government if authorized by the parents. or supervisor. Provide teachers within class support to develop IEP.

  • Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children to discuss progress or challenges with parents and staff members.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.

Owner and Management Correspondence:

  • Chair Monthly meeting.
  • Overseeing weekly class attendances and staff shift with their break coverage.
  • Any hiring and firing of staff need to be done with management knowledge and consent.
  • All staff to be given contracts, staff handbooks and all policies and procedures must be signed by the staff prior to their employment. All new hires must be approved by the management.
  • Daily correspondence with the management on how the targets are being meet by giving in detail the daily inquiries with names of the child/ parents along with their email address and phone numbers.
  • Ensure Parent and Staff handbooks are up to date and shared with parents and staff.
  • Health and Safety Staff shall be selected by the Supervisor and ensure the HSS conducts ameeting once every 6 months to ensure best practices are being followed by the staff.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Supervisor:

Daily Routine

Class observation for the implementation of the program

Checking playgrounds and classroom set up according to the weekly plans

Check daily report, checklist, emergency report, and accident reports

Tours/ Satisfying Parents queries and concerns

Weekly

Reviewing teacher’s planning & implementing strategies

Observing teaching practices and implementation of indoor and outdoor plans

Children’s observation and staff attendance, logbook review

Set up tours and recruiting staff. Reviewing One list

Monthly

Documentation of children’s progress

Fire Drills

Review of child’s attainment targets

Newsletter Checking and sending

Set up Staff workshops

Annually

Report card checking

Planning and executing an annual day program

Planning for activities: Winter break, midterm & summer break.

Planning the implementation program for the new academic year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

Licence/Certification:
