Key Responsibilities

Operate excavators 38 tonnes and above across demolition, remediation, earthworks and civil projects
Utilise a range of demolition attachments including shears, pulverisers, crushers, breakers and grapples
Undertake bulk excavation, trenching, stockpile management and material handling activities
Perform structural demolition works in accordance with engineered demolition methodologies
Complete final trim, detailed excavation and finishing works where required
Sort, segregate and process demolition materials for recycling and disposal
Assist with scrap processing, site remediation and rehabilitation activities
Conduct pre-start inspections, fault reporting and basic daily maintenance of plant and equipment
Work in accordance with site-specific SWMS, JHAs, permits and project procedures
Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Leading Hands and site personnel to achieve production targets
Assist with general site duties and labouring tasks when operational requirements dictate
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, environmental compliance and workplace safety
Identify and report hazards, incidents and equipment defects in a timely manner
Contribute to a positive team culture and demonstrate a strong commitment to Liberty Industrial's safety values

Skills and Experiences:
What We Need From You (Essential Requirements)

  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance and environmental standards
  • Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators 38 tonnes and above
  • Proven experience working within demolition, remediation, mining, infrastructure or heavy civil projects
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in remote FIFO environments
  • Strong understanding of excavation, material handling and demolition methodologies
  • Reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Tickets & Licences Required

  • Current Construction White Card
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence (HR Licence or higher highly regarded)
  • Verified VOCs, RIIs or nationally recognised competencies for excavator operation (38t+)
  • VOCs, RIIs or proven experience operating demolition attachments highly regarded
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police clearance
  • Full and unrestricted working rights within Australia
What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience operating a range of heavy machinery including ADTs/Moxy, Loaders, Skid Steers, Water Carts and Service Trucks
  • Structural demolition experience using shears, grapples and specialised demolition attachments
  • Concrete demolition experience using breakers, pulverisers, crackers and crushers
  • Oxy cutting, scrap processing and material recovery experience
  • Experience working on industrial, mining, shutdown, remediation or decommissioning projects
  • Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and work across multiple disciplines
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety and teamwork
