- (can be another instrument as well, but must have at least 2 of those first 4)
West Edmonton Location
- West of 149 St.
- South of 111 Ave
- East of Winterburn Rd
- North of Lessard Rd.
Availability & Other Requirements
- Must be able to host people in their home
- Must have another part/full-time job
- Must be able to work (at least) 2 days of the week between Tuesday-Friday between 5pm-9pm (we can always do more days/hours, if you'd like).
Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and experienced Music Instructors to host and teach students in their West Edmonton home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, with the ability to develop engaging curricula and foster a positive learning environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students of various ages through personalized instruction in music. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with children and adults, creating tailored lesson plans that promote growth in musical skills and overall development. Preference given to those who can teach multiple instruments
Responsibilities
- Conduct private music lessons in their own home (and rarely in other students' homes), focusing on skill development and musical theory.
- Develop customized curricula that cater to individual student needs, interests, and skill levels.
- Manage lesson dynamics effectively, ensuring a safe, respectful, and motivating environment.
- Plan engaging lessons that include activities like singing, playing instruments, or movement to foster a well-rounded musical education.
- Utilize photography or multimedia tools to document student progress and create visual portfolios.
- Adapt teaching methods for children with special needs or early childhood education requirements.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and upcoming lessons.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in music (if no teaching experience, we can help you get started)
- Understand curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
- Experience working with children of various age groups, including preschoolers and early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and childhood development principles.
- Skills in tutoring and adapting instruction for diverse learning styles and special education needs.
- Additional skills such as photography, sewing, culinary arts, or other creative disciplines are considered a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both children and adults effectively.
- Reliable transportation to host students at their West Edmonton home location. This position offers an enriching environment for educators passionate about fostering artistic growth and personal development through music and the arts in a home-based setting.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
