The Opportunity
Hydraulink Australia, a rapidly expanding hydraulic hose and fittings company is seeking a National Distribution Manager to work out of our main National Distribution site at Smithfield.
We are seeking a supply chain expert who is dedicated to operational excellence and results-driven performance. This individual will play a crucial role in optimizing our national distribution systems to deliver maximum value to our business, network, and customers.

- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Centre – optimising warehouse performance and the distribution network, improving inventory accuracy and workforce productivity
- Leading national distribution planning and execution, and overseeing the distribution network to dealers, end user customers, and our own branches, optimising cost-effective delivery, enhancing service levels, and ensuring product availability across multiple locations
- Collaborating with internal customers (procurement, sales, customer service, and state/branch managers) as well as external customers (logistics partnerships and distribution contracts) to ensure performance standards and cost targets are met and seamless end-to-end delivery is achieved
- Monitoring KPIs for warehousing and transport operations - continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and service levels, utilising Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies
- Developing a high-performing distribution warehouse team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer focus
- Managing distribution data, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Developing and implementing strategic initiatives that improve the customer experience and drive business results
- Tertiary level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics Management or relevant discipline or equivalent Distribution Centre, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations experience
- Distribution management experience working in similar roles within engineering, distribution or related industry sectors
- Exceptional supervision, leadership, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset to drive performance across the end-to-end supply chain
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Experience working in a fast paced, complex environment, often working to tight timeframes
- Proven success in project delivery, improvement processes, and change management
- Expertise in distribution systems, vendor metrics, and logistics platforms.
