About the Role
As our National Health & Safety Construction Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting and promoting safe working practices in conjunction with the H&S national team. You will work with managers, clients, supervisors, and sub-contractors to ensure that our people are fully engaged, and H&S is seamlessly integrated into the way we work to make sure our people are kept safe. This is a wide-ranging national role supporting large scale industrial construction projects.
Leading and managing a team of coordinators, this role will see you work nationally across Calder Stewarts sites. You will build effective relationships to establish credibility as a trusted advisor.
This role can be based in Milton or Christchurch.
Skills and Attributes
Our ideal candidate will have strong relationship skills and a thirst for knowledge in best practice H&S processes. Additionally, you will have proven leadership experience with the ability to switch from training and mentoring to engaging with clients and business leaders to influence change where required. Our ideal candidate will have a proactive and positive H&S mindset with their finger on the pulse at all times.
We will also be looking for the following attributes from candidates:

- Recognised H&S qualification desirable
- Ability to influence others
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
- High level of computer literacy
- Exceptional communication skills

- Current driver’s licence
