Job Overview:

We are seeking a Delivery Driver with experience in driving Nationwide and has excellent customer service skills. We require drivers to safely transport windscreens and related automotive glass products to customers and branches across Ireland in a timely and professional manner. In addition to deliveries we require someone who has experience in Warehouse and Stock Control Duties.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliveries and Time Management:

  • Arrive on site on time and ready to work hard. Work independently throughout the day, using strong time management skills to stay on track and complete all scheduled tasks within working hours.
  • Safely transport windscreens and related automotive glass products to customers and branches across Ireland in a timely and professional manner.
  • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes while adapting to traffic or delivery time constraints to meet daily delivery schedules.
  • Be available for early starts, long-distance routes, and occasional overnight stays if required.

2. Quality Control:

  • Load and unload windscreens with care, ensuring all items are handled and secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Carry out routine stock takes and quality control in line with Company procedures.

3. Communication and Customer Service

  • Maintain regular communication with dispatch or branch management regarding delivery progress, delays, or issues.
  • Provide excellent service at delivery points by representing the company professionally and assisting customers with queries or delivery documentation.
  • Ensure correct products are delivered and assist with product returns or collections as necessary.

4. Administrative Duties:

  • Complete all delivery records, manifests, and customer signatures accurately and in line with company procedures.

5. Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all road safety regulations and company health & safety policies, including the use of manual handling equipment and PPE where required.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks (tyres, lights, fluids, etc.) and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in driving and delivery services.
  • Skills: Adequate visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate a vehicle and handle fragile loads. Strong customer service experience an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with road safety, driving regulations, and vehicle load securing guidelines. Understanding of Stock Control and some Microsoft Office usage an advantage.
  • Certification: Candidates with valid forklift certification and hands-on experience will be at an advantage
  • Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and manoeuvring large and fragile items such as windscreens and automotive glass, in accordance with manual handling regulations and safe work practices.
  • Extended periods of sitting while driving long distances nationwide, often requiring early starts and variable hours.
