NEC Commercial Manager, Sydney

The project:

This is a complex, large scale, infrastructure programme in Sydney that will benefit the people and bring a positive impact to the community. Working with an amazing client and talented Mace team, this project will be of incredibly high-quality standards in a heavily regulated environment, suiting people with similar project experience that operate with the highest integrity and professionalism.

You’ll be responsible for:

Lead preparation and execution of NEC contract documents, warranties, bonds and statutory requirements.
Manage large commercial teams, driving high performance, continuous improvement and strong KPI delivery.
Oversee valuations, cost reporting and monthly post‑contract reviews to ensure robust cost control.
Identify cost impacts from design changes, awards and construction activities, and assess contractor claims.
Direct completion, certification and defect‑resolution processes to secure final account close‑out.
Guide cost consultants to enhance cost‑management practices, embedding best practice and supporting net‑zero goals.

You’ll need to have:

10–15 years’ NEC contract administration and commercial negotiation experience in professional or construction services.
Functional Lead experience on client‑side integrated teams.
Proven delivery on major infrastructure projects with strong commercial, risk and change control capability.
Degree‑qualified, digitally proficient, with excellent communication skills and knowledge of contract law, value engineering and sustainability.
