Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
As a Network Manager for the Gisborne network, you will become the subject matter expert for our state highways. You will be responsible for managing third party access onto the network and assessing third party development applications, working to ensure asset outcomes are not compromised by other's work through innovative thinking and solutions focused problem solving.
The role will use your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure the Transport Agency is successful in delivering a safe transport system to our customers, whilst demonstrating value for money.
You will be working alongside great people who are passionate about what we do every day for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi. Most of all to benefit our communities so they can move safely and efficiently to work, school or for recreation.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Technical and practical experience in asset management and road construction methodologies including onsite assessments or similar
- Experience at dealing with complex and sensitive issues in a political environment
- An understanding of financial monitoring, accruals and forecasting
- Ability to prioritise tasks and self-manage workload
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of safety and resilience for our communities
- NZ Driver's Licence (or equivalent) is required
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
